Ah, yes, St Paddy's Day. When everyone is "Irish" I'm an American of strictly Irish descent. My people came here during the potato famine. I'm Irish everyday. And yes, it's well known that whiskey was invented so the Irish ones wouldn't take over the world. 😁☘️
It's funny that so many Poles went to Ireland. When my Polish grandparents arrived in the US, they were kind of shunned by the Irish already here. Even though both groups, at that time were mostly Catholic, they each built their own churches. My Irish side of the family were dismayed that my mother married my Polish father. No matter to me, I can whip up some great Pierogi as well as Irish Soda bread.
I remember watching a great documentary on Detroit, the Irish and Polish put down their differences to fight a common plantation of their neighbourhoods, before it was destroyed by you know who.
Making Shepherds Pie tonight. We have Monday’s off so I made corned beef hash for breakfast with Irish coffees.
It’s been fun learning and celebrating with her family. They are American Irish. But her mom has kept records of the family and can somewhat speak Gaelic.
When I used to have to commute to NYC on a commuter train, I ALWAYS dreaded when SPD would fall on a weekday, because the wannabe-irish drunks would flood the trains, and this would be late afternoon!
Wore my old ass out, I tell ya!! Lol but had big fun with my grandkids! Got a touch of sunburn on my arms and upper chest but not too bad. Thanks Joy!! 🥰
It's deep south Louisiana lol. Suburbs of New Orleans. We had 4 days of winter winter this year lol - actually got snow. The snowfall total tied an over 100 yr old record. I have more Christmas tshirts than sweaters, lol. Friday it was 89° but yesterday was in low 70's. Sun is potent here lol.
Username checks out ♥️😁🫂💪😉

My wife is Irish. I am German/Nordic.
We celebrate St Patrick’s Day and Oktoberfest.
I'm one half Irish, and one half Polish. So Corned Beed and Pierogies it is!
Great combination, a lot of good poles found there way to Ireland. Great people, great fit.

Or was it Chicago, will see if I can find it.
I’m Irish, thousandth generation. My wife is Finnish, who I describe as “like the Irish, but with a drink problem”. 😀
Happy Paddy’s Day.
Happy Paddy’s day to you as well fren!

If only they had discovered Vodka while tinkering with all those Potatoes, I'd be buying Irish Vodka all these years.
KEK!
My ancestor, the Irish King Niall Noigiallach, abducted St. Patrick and sold him into slavery in Ireland in 402 AD.
It didn't seem like a big deal at the time.
It’s a mad fact, that we used to raid England regularly. Discovering whiskey was our downfall.
Ireland before whiskey
Erin go bragh frens

Sunburn, well you definitely wouldn’t run that risk in Ireland. It was a soft day, with a nice bite to it.

So much for global warming.
Exactly what I said. I think it was closer to a 150 yr record held tbh
😸
Make it a pot o' popcorn 🍿 😋
LOL
You to, from down here in the real capital, Cork.
Weather was great today, but we are close to the Mediterranean down here.
Ireland should be regarded as a US State and brought into the union.
Its first real ruler, Eamon de Valera https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89amon_de_Valera, was a US citizen
As such, his conquests were conquests for the US- see the chain of legislative provisions ending with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Service-Members%27_Protection_Act
Americans are far better at preserving Irish culture and identity than the cabalist liberals of Ireland.
Ireland is American territory.
Vance looks likely to be its next governor https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-41439349.html
Make it our 52 State
Welcome on board.
Once we've deported your illegals/their sympathisers, you'll be a lot more welcome than California.
Can I have that pot of gold?
Am Irish also (20%) 🍺
So….20% of awesomeness ☘️
Kek! Thanks for this post Irish.. wishing you the best on St. Patrick's Day! 🍀💚☘️

Dear AI, is it gold or caramel popcorn?
AI: 'yes'
The Catholic church held a corned beef and cabbage dinner last night, and people at my volunteer job showed up in green today.
