People built hammers. Simple tools with readily sourced materials. Hammers can do what we cant, but we are not obsolete due to creation of the hammer. Nor the knife, spade, hoe, chisel, drill, pipes or screwdriver. They are pretty foundational tools and have no clear alternatives. Easy to maintain and repair.
Later on, people built steam engines and then even later internal combustion engines. A lot more complicated to build requiring some degree of an industrial base to forge the materials, and refine and/or gather the needed fuel sources. Trains and planes, trucks and ships can transport around amazing quantities of material that no random man with a load on his back could ever contemplate. But planes dont rule us, or replace us, or run our societies for us. We could do without them and reinvent another suitable replacement tool if we had to. It takes some training to tear down, clean and repair an engine, but it can be done.
And now AIs, which are also built by people. Vast datacentres full of complicated computers, networking, chips, cooling, code, and electricity distribution for the power loads needed, all of which have to have their power sources and transmission networks constructed. The most complex and expensive tool that exists to date, needing massive tech advancement to create, mining to source materials and the refining tech to turn these into electronic components, and the knowhow to put them all together so that they work. We could we turn AI off tomorrow with almost no significant measurable impact at all, since we have gotten by without it just fine for a long time. And certainly could build alternatives. Ditto for search engines, mapping tools, cryptocurrencies, social media, phones and the other false idols that every few years are exalted as the new tool ushering in the new age of reason.
I'm gonna keep my hammer as it will be perpetually useful. But who remembers or mourns the dead search engines that have failed and fallen by the way side? Can AI self-maintain and create or does it need a massive army of people keeping it chugging along?

100%. Just like money, everything is a tool that can be used for good or bad. Evil will always try to use something for evil and deceive and make it like a god to be worshiped or use as an excuse to why they think God isn't real. Ultimately, it's God who allows AI to even be made. And God will use it however He is going to use it to bring about God's plan. Will it be the image come to life in Revelation? Who knows. But it is a fact that God controls the entire timeline and allows things to happen in order to get us to Revelation in order to be with Him. Hard fact is things gotta get worse before they get better. Doesn't mean we sit by and just go whatever, we still gotta do the best we can and bring others with and still fight for good. No doubt AI will lead to some part of the beast system that's already in the works out there and part of the huge deception.
