Fun fact: tung sten means "hard stone"
Another fun fact: in Danish, "tung sten" means heavy stone. I believe the original tungsten is actually Swedish, also meaning heavy stone.
However, the chemical symbol is W, so we do not call it tungsten, but Wolfram.

Although they are very nearly the same density, tungsten is 3 times harder than gold, whereby gold can easily be verified by a hardness measurement.
