There is no role of Pope in scripture.
Popes don't even meet the biblical requirements to be a pastor or elder.
Must be the husband of one wife (1 Timothy 3:2, Titus 1:6) – Popes are celibate and unmarried, contrary to this clear requirement.
Must have believing, well-disciplined children (Titus 1:6) – As celibates, popes do not have families to fulfill this qualification.
Must not be a lover of power or self-exalting (1 Peter 5:3) – The papal office elevates one man as "Vicar of Christ", with supreme authority, contrary to the servant-leadership model in Scripture.
What do you want to follow; the traditions of men or God's Word? Jesus answered this when admonishing the Pharisees.

That's why.. ORTHODOX Church, the original church before Catholic, the priest is required to be married and have kids. It's much healthier this way, mentally sound, and safer this way. Those priests who dont get married and alone and many are gay/pedo, weirdo.. just F up.

He was celibate and unmarried... Last time I checked Jesus wasn't married either. Is He qualified to be a teacher/elder?
The Pope is literally just the bishop of Rome. Bishops exist in Scripture with Peter himself serving as the traditional "first Pope".
Paul wasn’t a pastor/elder—he was an apostle, a unique, foundational office (Eph. 2:20) not bound by the elder qualifications in 1 Timothy 3 or Titus 1. Same with Jesus—He is Lord of the Church, not subject to the qualifications He gave for His under-shepherds.
As for the Pope, calling him “just a bishop” is laughable. He claims universal jurisdiction, infallibility, and supremacy—none of which are given to any bishop in Scripture. Peter was an apostle, yes—but he calls himself a fellow elder (1 Pet. 5:1), not a monarch.
Rome added titles. Scripture gives servants.
The Pope is literally just the bishop of Rome. Rome is the see in charge of all churches. The Byzantine Emperor Phocas even said this.
SOMEONE has to be the head of the church, in the book of Acts, Peter is clearly shown to be the head of the church. If there is no head of the church there is no agreement as seen by the thousands of protestant schisms.
Popes have declared themselves the Vicar of Christ. (Vicar = “instead of” in Latin). They have also claimed “infallibility”.
