I don't think he did this just for a joke, this is him saying he's got control of the Vatican Bank and all its gold. Trump is the new leader of the Vatican, and he already got the Royal Family in his first term.

They gave the word a negative connotation so they could hit people over the head with it.

honestly as much as I disagree with them the one advantage is they did spread the word of Jesus Christ throughout the whole world.. and what people do with that it's up to them but they did really help spread the gospel throughout the world like in Southeast Asia.
Well, the position of Pope is open to anyone. Doesn't have to be a cardinal. Maybe Melania, who is Catholic, told him he would make a good Pope.
