There is a submarine base at Bangor, Washington, along the Hood Canal, not far from Ketron Island. No extra sub bases needed. As I understand it, Air Force 1 was over the Pacific Ocean when this event occurred. Impossible for a missile shot to reach it (too far, no tracking, no guidance, no system capable). My analysis was that this was an unauthorized SLBM launch due north (to Russia).
I would like to see your flight path calculations from your analysis. Do you really think the Navy would give a parking space to a rogue Israeli sub? Other articles say the missile was launched from near Whidbey Island and not necessarily the island itself which means it could have come from a sub sitting in open waters between Whidbey and Lopez Islands. There is a Naval Air Station on Whidbey Island, but they claimed they lack the capability to launch large ballistic missiles.
