Anyone else notice birds that aren't really flying around this year? The birds in my area in southern New England are hanging around in bushes and laying around in tall grass. They don't really fly away when you get closer to them. I've noticed this at my house and work. Just curious if anyone else has noticed this behavior.

Here in Northern Commifornia, SF Bay Area, where we have been bombarded by those streaks in the sky that don't really disperse after the plane is long gone.
My spidey sense tells me whateveritis that forms Xs and arcs in the sky, ain't for our better good or health.
BUT, the birds are fine around here! They don't have the opportunity to go indoors and shut the doors and windows.
The sparrows and gold finches are thriving around my back yard feeder. I always take that as a positive sign. NATURE KNOWS BEST.
I pray for the birds in southern New England who are exhibiting odd behavior. May They Be Well!
Birds are normal here in Alabama.
What isn’t normal for around my house is seeing a cottonmouth near bushes against our house. Yes down in S Alabama we have a number of poisonous snakes, cottonmouths included, however we have lived in this house for 18 yrs and have never seen any poisonous snakes, a very few rat snakes (like 3). We do have runoffs, a creek and a pond in the neighborhood but we don’t live near any of them. Then I saw on a snake identification fb page for Al, someone asked identifying a copperhead in our area (not close to us but in same city), and comments people were saying that it was very unusual to see that snake in that area. Maybe it’s the growth of our area (all the building of neighborhoods) that are pushing wildlife in areas where they’ve never been before.
We took out every bush in front yard and will replace them with potted plants instead, so we can see things easier. That cottonmouth could have bitten our daughter, myself, husband and our dogs. It was hiding out right next to our garage & driveway. Our daughter almost stepped on it getting out of her car. I ended up standing right next to it, hiding under a rock.
Birds and bees are doing great in Southwest Oregon.
Birds in my area, texas gulf coast, are doing their normal thing.
Greater Phoenix area… Birds are doing great. But I’m pet sitting in Gold Canyon, and I put out feed for the birds and the rabbits in the morning and they come from all over the place. There’s at least 5 to 6 different species, and they love the food. They’re flying in from all over the place, we do have a lot of quail and they are more ground birds, but they do know how to fly, but they run around on the ground a lot. But that’s normal. We did have real clouds today so I was happy about that. It seems really cool for it being summer. As the beginning of June, it’s usually triple digits but it actually rained on Sunday so it’s been cooler.
Birds in Arizona are flying great. I would pay attention to possible toxins in your vicinity? Pesticides, herbicides, toxins in water, etc.
No. But I will look now because that is strange.
Birds aren't real!
The birds are okay in North Dakota, as far as I know.
Birds in the pacific nw seem to be doing fine though, I have seen two in my backyard around the feeder/water fountain so far that I did not recognize so looked them up. Both are birds that are not usually in the area but, should be further east and not all the way to the west coast. I have seen a good portion of honey bee and the big ol bumble bees already plus, several hummingbird and have a local pair of hawks patrolling daily in the area. Did have one lil bird that seemed to be a bit bloated and sluggish about the middle of last month so pulled my feeders for a week as not to get other birds infected if it was indeed ill with something. I love my back yard birds heh.
I’m in area west of Houston. The birds are normal around here.
Yes, almost seem robotic.
Where about are you?
Have seen more birds but noticed my dig was a lot calmer than he has ever been.
They are flying all over near me.
Normal in central az
