The system is currently better than it used to be... But seems to still be set up in a way that people who are gaming the system have an easier time getting through than the people who do need it. Very sad!
But don't forget courts got slowed down to BS Covid shut down sort of stuff. I know a woman who was house bound from an illness she was going to Cleveland Clinic for treatment for, applied in 2019 took until 2024 years to get SSDI. Said the judge that finally saw her in-person at the last hearing was horrified.
I also know people who had jab and became disabled, some of then in the early twenties. Also saw some develop mental disorders within a year after the jab, though that's not quite as easy to assign blame...
While I certainly agree there are SOME that are "disabled" (ridiculous word... like a machine being, "out of order") - from the jibby and luciferase coursing thru their semi-clogged veins...
Human nature is most likely the REAL reason for the uptick in numbers.
C19 had plenty of non-contributing zeros that produce nothing non-essential "workers" that "worked" from home, pushing their paper and doing all those stupid time wasting soul crushing meetings about nothing...via zoom (pants optional, right CNN TubeIn? ) etc - Meanwhile, the entire world, with few exceptions, just kept humming right along without them clogging up my roads with their shitty driving habits and daily demonstrations of how they REALLY CAN'T multitask/drive while screwing around fumbling a phone.
Isn't it rather enlightening how many non-essential people in our society there are and the fact that nothing of major significance ground to a halt?
AND human nature being what it is, when the cat's away, the mice will play... - So, many, already getting overpaid for not REALLY working, found new ways to screw off... during company time. Some were healthy/productive outlets, like questioning the exchange rate between work money and their soul - and finding ways to evaluate that and grow, possibly prepping for post lockdown new horizons... while others just collected a check and screwed off, doing home improvements, building at home gyms (they'll never use) [I couldn't get animal stall mats because everyone was suddenly building a home gym] and even starting up a hobby or lame, half-assed attempt at a side business that was doomed to fail before it began...
AND...many just screwed off completely, watching Netflix or YT for hours or days binge watching like a professional representative of Sloth, the deadly sin...all the while getting full pay and bennies. No commute, no car maintenance, tolls, fuel, whatever slop they picked up every day on the way in (EG - $15/day Starbucks/Dunkin dognuts habit)...all they had to do was wiggle their mouse and click around in MS Teams a little here and there to prove they had a pulse ...
SO... What REALLY HAPPENED was these people got PLEASURE BENT!
They had essentially an 18 month fully paid cake walk and the idea of "going back" to their SOUL CRUSHING jobby job, dealing with their commute, traffic, school busses and "public", rotting away under florescent lights in a cubicle, day in and day out - many would rather die ...
But they don't want to die... because their show is coming on and it's just easier to play "sick and tired" because they're full of dis-ease - when the "system" gives them an easy out of responsibility and a productive life.
I'm leaning towards this being a social dis-ease than a disabling physical one...
People have gotten really lazy in recent years and once you break the momentum a routine gives you, you gotta DIG DEEP to start back up again. Like I said... Pleasure bent. Somehow the world (that's you and me, BTW) owe them something... because they're tired, unable to handle the life they created for themselves and "everybody else gets an entitlement, where's mine?" Like a whole bunch of "Miltons" that didn't receive a piece last time, told to pass...
Sure, the vax has probably played a role. What role exactly? That's unclear because the causative mechanisms haven't been identified. No one's clearly and precisely documenting which disabilities are caused by this thing and which are caused by other things. This narrative is an internet meme without reliable data from a high quality source with reliable methodology to back it.
But we also have to understand we had a Democrat in office. Exploiting the welfare system is a feature not a bug. I can't tell you how many people I know who were injured on the job, went through the Worker's Comp process, and had their doctors try and fast track their documentation for "fully disabled" status instead of patching them up and returning them to health. Far too many people wanted the easy way out, to take a government check instead of working - and the system facilitated it.
Neighbor got in a car accident a couple of years ago and hurt his back. Hasn't worked since and trying for SSDI. In the ~8 years that they've lived here, neighbor has worked 2.5/8. On Medicaid, Food Stamps, full gambit. What a racket.
