Something a lot of people don't understand is Top Secret or Q clearances don't mean someone can just go see whatever they want. They have to have a need-to-know, and authorization. I had a TS for all of my military career, and both a TS and a Q in my civilian career. It only meant I could see what I needed to see as long as I was authorized to see it. Nothing more. Your friend is screwing with you.

edit: a friend who works for Northrop Grumman (with top secret clearance) says things look good. for what that's worth.
