Yes, AI will be a way to kill, destroy, and ruin without anyone being held accountable.
This is such an over simplification. It will lead to mass unemployment and economic turmoil in the best case scenario. I would say AI can already do 50% of jobs better than people. It's over the world is going to change from this.
50% of jobs? It can't do data entry, graphic design, or coding without making numerous mistakes. It can't even touch blue collar jobs. There may be a day it can outcompete humans for most jobs, but we're not there yet.
You haven't been paying close enough attention to it.
I've (tried) to use it for code and image generation. Unless it's similar to pre-existing content, it makes numerous mistakes. What have you used it for?

It is a worry, but the shoe horning of "AI" into everything is poisoning the hoi polloi against it.
Like the old 'google digital assistant' that would flawlessly add calendar entries and what not from voice people were into. Now everyone is asking to either turn it off completely or remove Gemini and go back to the old assistant because the "AI" can't figure out what to do with 'set a reminder to call Tim at 5pm on Wednesday'

I have recently read about how ChatGPT was bested in Chess by the Atari 2600's Chess cartridge so who ever programs AI over there at chatgpt chess is not their strong point.
There was once a chess program called Sargon that was only available on 5.25 in. floppy disks, 💾 back in the 80s. Many pro players say it was better than today’s electronic chess programs.
I too recall Sargon. But I stuck to Microprose Sim games at the time.

AI can compliment us. They are unable to replace us. It is a tool.

No, not at all. It doesn't need you as a slave, it doesn't need you for anything. Neither will your employer after they learn they can accomplish 10x more at 1/10th the price using AI.
