My #1 rule of survival: Avoid crowds. Today I see absolutely NO reason to attend a music festival, full of drunks and loud people and few toilet facilities, for music that I can listen to at home.... for free... and in comfort and easy reach of my kitchen and coffee maker.
Crowds have become Ground Zero for anyone wanting to do something evil and stupid. After every such event, there are always arrests, people going to the ER, and the great unwashed mouth breathers with an average IQ of about 70.
Same here. You get a better view and can even adjust the sound to your liking from the comfort of the easy chair.
No need to get filthy, pay ridiculous ticket prices, park in the next county, and yeah, the porta potties. I don't even want to pee on the outside of one, let alone go inside one.

Defensive tactics 101, avoid the threat completely. People understand this already at a basic level when tje cross the street because of a dog or person they are not comfortable with.

Yeah I agree. This isn’t really an “answer,” so much as it is just a consequence of a fallen world. But that doesn’t mean it’s good or right to just isolate all the time. We are social creatures and we are meant to be together in tribes. Music is a great place for that, though I completely understand that today’s world makes that a risk.

To be fair, not that anyone should be attending concerts right now, they could do basically the same thing at many grocery stores or Costco.
At least in Costco and grocery stores, you can carry a firearm.

We attended a concert in the park last night. It was a totally lovely time.
Exactly the same reason I don't attend sporting events anymore. I can watch from home, no crowd, my own CLEAN bathroom with no waiting line, and food that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. And when its over, no traffic jams to contend with. Why anyone wants to suffer thru these massive crowd events is a mystery. You're probably right. Spend a couple hundred dollars and deal with the frustrations of the crowds/traffic just for a few oh-so valuable "likes" on facebook. Or to make facebook "friends" jealous.
