None, therefore incompetence doesn't explain it. Either they need to admit he's an imbecile, moron, retard, idiot, learning disabled, or whatever medical low-IQ term is being used now, or admit he acted deliberately, knowing the campers would be majority white. Or both. There's no out on this, and Texans need to push back very hard or become California.

Budget versus lives? No either way, not understanding that "very simple concept" had no bearing doing the job- saving lives is the job, regardless of reimbursement.
Sounds like what has happen in many disasters.
Funny how they only ever care about saving Money when the opportunity to actually help the citizenry crops up. And the State would reimburse them for the funds spent. So it’s not like it would even be a long term hole in the budget.

Not even just that. It seems to be an endemic issue in multiple levels of Government. Congressmen for instance now whining about the Budget, National Debt, and raising the debt ceiling. When before they raised it endlessly for years.
Yet it’s only when they find out some of it may go to start helping actual Americans. They suddenly become Fiscal Hawks. And they always have some reason why they voted to raise it. But the fact remains they did. And it’s only when Americans might stand to benefit that they become rigid and uncompromising in their stance on it.
He needs to be fired, because he was thinking more about money than saving peoples lives.
