For many there is no point and there is no hope. All we see is foreigners coming in and taking our jobs and houses. Dating is fucked, housing market and job markets are fucked. Getting married, having kids and owning a home just isn’t a thing for many anymore. So why not play video games and check out? You bust you ass at UW or UC Berkeley Computer Science only for a Pajeet to take your job.
And if we complain about it Gen Xers and boomers will just say we’re lazy and crying. Well to that I say well in large if Gen Xers and boomers were better stewards of the country then we wouldn’t have been in the situation. Maybe if Gen Xers and boomers didn’t allow Pajeets and illegals to just come on in and take the jobs maybe just maybe younger people would be more motivated to work harder. The most ironic thing on here is older anons bitching about Jewish usury only to shit on younger Americans complaining about the interest rates on their student loans. Then they wonder why birth rates are collapsing. A lot of things that older generations are complaining about happened under their watch and enacted by politicians and business executives their age.
So in the eyes of those younger and not as plugged in we are a country governed by old people controlled by Israel and the CCP. So why should they care? Why wouldn’t we all be “extreme far right”? Why do you think Christian nationalism is exploding online? Why do you think people sympathizing with Hitler is exploding? Misguided or not why wouldn’t they think that when they are getting demographically replaced?
I have hope obviously but I understand why they think the way they do. And thankfully not all of us 18-35 year old men are dooming. We are organizing online and making men who are unapologetic defenders of the west. Pride in our Christian and European identity. Going to the gym, calling out degeneracy. Building men focused on discipline and holding each other accountable and not to live a life on hedonism. Building online and IRL brotherhoods cause we understand we will go extinct if we don’t.

I'm a teacher. I resigned from my last school recently because it was sucking the life out of me, working with Gen Alpha kids who are even worse than Gen Z. It feels like they're soulless. There's nothing in there. They're cruel, and they're completely addicted to technology to the point they have violent withdrawals. I'm going back to teaching in a completely different specialty to get away from them. So, yes, I know this stare, because it's looked right through me for years, and I can't spend another minute around it.

It's not that people in this age range are so socially awkward they can't function in society, it's that most don't care. Why should they? Everything is against them. as u/nwhomebrewer pointed out, EVERYTHING about normal society is working against people in the 35 and under bracket. There's literally no motivation to put in more than the bare minimum effort into anything, When the world you live in is like that, of course you're going to have a dead look in your eyes, because you ARE dead inside.
Beyond that the hobbies and general passions between boomers, gen Xers and zoomers/alpha are so different it's almost night and day. I will grant you I don't personally believe in ipad parenting and the like and DO believe it's a problem, but the whole "tech addiction" thing is vastly blown out of proportion. I'm an older zoomer, depending on how you count it I'm either the oldest to be considered a zoomer or the second oldest year. And I can say this much from experience. I, and everyone I know, don't have an addiction to tech. Heck, I could count on one hand the number of people with social media accounts who do anything more than just follow stuff that they have a hobby in like cars, games, guns, art, cooking, etc. and have basically zero post history.
Furthermore, and this is both me personally and pretty much everyone I know, most people in this age group just don't feel like interacting with random people in some "fake" way. None of us are rude, but we tend to just keep to ourselves or our immediate friends in public. I had DOZENS of "friends" in college who I was capable of talking to, laughed with, had fun with, etc. because we were around each other daily, and then never spoke to again after that semester because we never had classes together.
If you're gonna be around someone daily, it's much different than some random customer or passerby you'll more likely than not literally never see again or if you do, they won't recognize you.
And I'll say this too, because this is a pet peeve of mine. Teachers are crap at their jobs these days. I'm speaking from experience here. When I was in middle school, the teachers were so shit at everything they did and blamed us for everything that my grade got the label of "worst class ever", and I mean that literally. Then we got to high school, and every single high school teacher said the exact opposite. I'm not saying EVERY kid these days do no wrong, but a lot of it is lazy teachers who don't take responsibility for their shortcomings and blame the kids for everything.
