Sadly, "we" all didn't know this. Nearly half the population will be "baffled" by this result. And they will explain the job losses as being down to Trump's tariffs.
It doesn't matter what facts or logic says, the leftards will just "believe" whatever they need to believe in order to avoid confronting the frightening fact that they are basically stupid and wrong about everything.
Have a conservation with a dead person and try and get them to understand and acknowledge that they are dead, that is exactly what it's like talking to a leftard on anything more politically complex than "pass the salt"
Tackling the States Skyhigh cost of living and out of control spending driving tax increases that further raise the cost of living? No. Too hard.
Raise the mandated minimum wage in an industry already renowned for slim margins, corner cutting, and shifty behavior? All while exempting your buddies business. Yes.
I was talking about corporate. Although they did close one in, I believe, Oakland due to crime. It's the only location they have ever closed as far as I know.
They closed that location because people were being robbed while waiting in the drive thru line. As far as I know, it's the only In N Out location to close.
The big liberal capitol city near where our shop is raised their minimum wage to $20. We aren't in that city, but it affects us because people will go there to work for more money than work in our smaller town that doesn't have the higher minimum wage. Therefore, we have to offer more to attract the employees. Then, when we sell online, we are competing with other shops that can sell for less because they live somewhere without the high overhead we now have.
We made the decision to close our shop when our lease runs out this fall. We are in the business of managing employees rather than selling our custom product. we will just sell online, and are training our kids to take orders and run the machinery from our home. It's ridiculous what we have to do because of minimum wage increases and also because the new crop of young adults looking for jobs don't realize they are there for the job, the job isn't there for them. They can't make more and more demands on a small family owned business.
They lost me as a food customer at LAX after they increased airport salaries even higher.
Pret a Manger Chicken Caesar Salad -- $18.50
Burger King Whopper Meal --- $23
Better to bring a snack from home, or simply fast. On the last time I transited LAX, I brought sourdough bread and fruit bars with me so I wouldn't have to eat there.
And did the food or service improve ? Of course not. Prolly got worse if anything. These jobs were never meant to be careers and we all knew this would happen.
Dems truly are the scourge of our Country.
According to the video, the fast food places are desperate to automate because of the high turn over rates. It's very expensive to train people, then have them quit a few months later. The video says that part of the decline in the fast food industry is that the automation isn't happening fast enough to make up for the unstable work force.
like we all didnt know this would happen.......

And the loss of In N Out.
In N Out didn't close any of their burger restaurants in CA. They are in the process of relocating their corporate office from CA to TN.

It costs less money to eat at airports in Europe.

In California that's a good thing. Progressives need dependents
The fast food industry in general is dying, and the $20 minimum wage policy is pushing it all the faster towards death's door in CA. This 14-minute video on why fast food is dying is really interesting and worth the watch: https://greatawakening.win/p/19BGK3ITCy/the-mcrecession-why-the-fast-foo/c/
