Not a fan. I take the Einstein methodology that if something cannot be explained simply, then the person explaining it does not know the subject well enough. As such, why would I listen/watch to a 1hr++ podcast?
That is a breath of fresh air in today’s culture because all too much content gets warped to satisfy sponsors and algorithms. There’s not much room for the brevity of genius when it doesn’t make money. Old people are better about speaking profoundly and concisely when they have nothing left to gain or lose.
I can’t stand TV, Podcasts or videos. I refuse to watch any commercials. I hate people that say “watch my video”. No. write what you have to say in words. Then I can skip through your bullshit and read the pertinent parts, if any. I have no time to watch ‘you”. Ever...
Don't get cause and effect confused. Before there was ever TV or computers, there were theatrical events, having a variety of performances, and the audience was provided a "program" of what was happening in what order: a program. That was taken up by broadcast TV. Then by computer codes that were a step beyond machine language, where the code consisted in a sequence of operations, i.e., a program. So, they call it "programming" because that it what it was in the original flow of history. Don't twist it from a future use by going backwards through a time machine.
"Programming" qua intellectual indoctrination came into use well after "programming" was established nomenclature in the entertainment world. So, on TV, nobody is "telling you up front" about intellectual indoctrination if they use ordinary nomenclature that has been around in the entertainment industry for a very long time. Clearer?
Some people are never satisfied. What else did you mean about what I am smoking? (But I don't smoke. I have fantasies about having a cheroot in a glamorous surrounding, but I'm not in that movie.)
What I meant is you took what I said to a level on the top floor. All I meant was they know what they are doing when they call it programming. Jumpin G Hoes a fats.
Well, during the day for background while working (at 71 thanks to sucky SS!) I have on Have Gun Will Travel, Rawhide, Maverick, Black Sheep, Hawaii 5-O, and the likes. At night I go with Paranormal shows, Forensic Files, some history shows.. Never any news! LOL...
That's mainstream news. it is NOT all of "television," which is far more than the broadcast channels, not to mention news programs. If you spend all your attention on gutters, you will come to a pretty jaundiced view of any city.
I love analyzing movies and their predictive programming, especially ones from the last couple decades. It is an easy roadmap to follow where they are leading us next.
We are still like two years away from the Terminator and skynet.
Kind of disagree....TV is why I had a lot of questions as a child and actually awakened me. Anyone who links their life to sitcoms, news, documentaries on TV, also music artists, is living in the matrix.
The television industry is wrecking itself, and it cannot stop itself from doing so…..it’s so sad that a lot of people have tied their identities to what they hear on television…..it’s one great big con (psyop) job…..
Haha, I stopped watching in 2016. It was kinda hard to go cold turkey. But I did it. Why, something was wrong and I had enough WHITE PRIVLIAGED BS shoved down my throat. FFS, give it a rest. Then after being gone for 30+ days it felt great. The psychological you are a bad person if you are white was gone. NOW, whenever I get inflicted with TV, ( doctors office or repair shop) I look at TV like it's an alien??? What planet is this from. ????
I do not watch MSM, but I do enjoy movies and streaming good tv series. I do not need a nanny telling me what I can be influenced by or not by, I can tell myself, thank you very much, it is called discernment. News is not news anymore, it is all commentary, the only talking heads that I enjoy is old videos of David Byrne and his band. At my age, listening or reading the opinion page is not interesting at all, there is nothing new under the sun. Blah blah blah, I sure do enjoy binge watching an exciting series though, late in the evening .
I haven't had a TeeVee in over 20 years.
10 for me. I haven't missed a thing!
Ditto

I don't watch news, or any other talking heads for that matter.

I like podcasts that involve experts in their field.

What do they call it-----PROGRAMMING. They tell you up front!

WTF are you smoking?

I didn't ask for an definition of programming! Some people are just TOO analytical when it comes to anything posted on here. Geeeessssshhhhhhh!

My point was that they were calling it "programming" before TV was a thing. Had nothing to do with popular indoctrination.
I only watch TV when I'm downstairs with mom. If you call what I do "watching" lol. I tend to read GaW while she watches.

MSM is the greatest enemy of The People in all of history. That has nothing to do with a baseball game on TV.
I admit that I have never analyzed the News as if it were a TV.
You mean there really isn't a Mayberry NC?
We dropped cable over ten years ago. Haven't missed it.

Fag up and put on your big boy pants.

I come here to GW for entertainment. I am never disappointed.
