Even simpler things like campaign donations - how do we address a local road building company financing a city transportation department head into office? “Talk about creating conflicts of interest.”
The core issue seems to be how to address divided loyalties with government officeholders and corporate leadership. Not to take away from the one you pointed out, just reminding that it’s one (big) piece of a bigger picture.
Active enemy combatants holding an office is, of course, even worse.
You must realize that there is no relationship between loyalty and citizenship, just obligations. Plenty of Americans arrested for espionage for foreign powers. Plenty of citizens working to destroy our nation and its Constitution.
