No longer are people shouted down all over the place that they have no right to speak on certain issues because they don't belong to enough "poor me" groups, so if Milo is going to make an impact today he's going to need to find a slightly new angle. I'm not saying he can't do that--after all, he was the one who turned out to be smart enough to identify, label, and dismantle that doctrine in the first place, but the whole "I'm a gay jew with a black boyfriend" schtick that gave him the ability to say what so few of us felt comfortable saying isn't really in his favor anymore, so I will be very curious to see what he finds to differentiate himself this time around and what contribution he'll be able to make to the national conversation as it now stands.
