I bought a Tesla a few months ago. It's the best car I have ever owned.
You've owned some real shitty cars then.
Not really. I had a Rav4 which is close to the same size as a Tesla model Y. 1500 Chevy Siverado. That of course was a truck so not the same thing. The Rav4 was a pretty good car. I have a 22 Ford Maverick which is a car with a truck bed. That's kind a nice because I do not need a full truck anymore.
"It's the best car I have ever owned."
Because you weren't forced to buy it.
Fair comment
The car is a dream to drive. I charge it at home with no problems unless I am going on a big trip. I went on a 2000 mile trip (1000 each way) Using superchargers was no problem at all. 10 to 20 minutes at a charger. No big deal, it was enough time to hit the bathroom and get a snack. Then I can go 200-250 miles before the next charge. I'm fine with that. I am ready to get out of the car after 3 1/2 hours of driving anyway. I don't know about other EVs but I am sold on Tesla. The Self driving is amazing.
Good for you. Not for me
I would have said the same thing last year. I was totally against EVs. Then I took a Tesla for a test drive. The FSD is remarkable. The car is a joy to drive. A new update in coming next week FSD14 (I have FSD13 now). Two weeks after that update there is another update which will be FSD 14.1 then a couple of weeks later FSD 14.2 They are claiming that FSD14.2 will almost feel sentient.
Did you ask or Did the salesman tell you how long the battery will last?????
VERY IMPORTANT...the battery sits in the MIDDLE OF THE CAR (i.e. PASSENGER CABIN) to give the car better stability ALSO DID YOU ASK WHAT THE PRICE OF NEW BATTERY WAS????
They won't be commenting about that. When the price tag shows up
Remember that Rivian truck that had a tiny bump in the rear corner and they proposed $40,000 to change batteries and fix it? . Search this: .. rivian 40,000 to fix crash damage
Probably trades it in before the battery wears out.
On top of that, ask who can service the car. It still needs repairs as there are moving parts. What about simple fender benders, can you go to just any body shop?
The battery has an 8 year warranty. The battery is under the car. I charge at home 99% of the time. I get about 4 miles for 15 cents of charge (Home charging). Or about $1.50 for 40 miles. I only charge to 80% unless I am going on a longer trip. I get a little over 300 miles on a full charge but at 80% its closer to 250. Every morning I start the day with the same 250 miles available. If I think I will need more thatn 250 miles I will charge closer to 100% I heard it was between 8,000-12,000 for a new battery but I don't know for sure. I only charge to 80% because any battery when fully charged can swell in heat. Over time that could be a problem. My brother has a Tesla he bought 5 years ago. He still loves the car.
I have a hot rod 91 GMC low shortbed and a 23 road glide. Both eat 93 octane dinosaur squeezings. I love both of them. But to each, their own. πππΊπ²
What I like is no one should force you to get a EV. Nor should anyone force you to get a ICE vechile. The Tesla is so freaking fast from zero to 60. Every once in a while I just have to floor it. I have to admit, that never gets old. LOL
I have friends with Teslas and they say the same thing. One of my friends uses his Tesla for all his short around town communing. Whenever he drives greater than 300 miles he takes his Honda Van. Works for him since he charges at home all the time.
