      The Trump Administration is taking action following the arrest of one of the most prominent conservative journalists in America.
If Bondi's investigation finds corruption in the Portland, Oregon police department (highly likely)... the Federal DOJ will have the means to step in and clean out the Portland Police Dept.
It would serve justice if they fired up to 80% or more of the police, who are corrupt... and then put out national ads hiring replacements from former military personnel or experienced police from other areas. The Feds can stay onboard to help the new force become established and to ensure it has full cooperation from the City of Portland.
And you can guarantee this will be immediately blocked by state and federal judges and the Supreme Court would have to side with those judges and the state, as its not a federal issue at all. The people of the state elect their officials including the sheriff. Only way to unravel any of this is if the elections are determined to be fake, as we know they are.
Exactly. As long as the people of Portland and the State of Oregon continue to support these officials and their policies, they get what they voted for. It is not a Federal problem. We have much bigger issues that must be addressed for the good of the whole country. The Federal government may be big, but its resources are limited. We can only be spread so thin. Don't forget, Trump is also reducing the size of government at the same time. Therefore, our presence in Portland needs to stay focused on protecting Federal facilities and personnel. Besides, Oregon is not even cooperating with the Feds. If they were, things might be different. Oregon therefore, will need to fix its own problems themselves - after all, they created them.
Here's a brief statement of what I made in a hypothetical scenario, which I am sure some of you read weeks ago.
"In addition, the current Portland Police Department is deemed unreliable and no longer trusted by the Department of Homeland Security."
Given the police in Portland cannot be trusted to do what's right, this is the only instance I would support a complete disbanding of the PPD and a new one created from scratch to properly assume the duties of law enforcement.
It might be different if Oregon wanted our help, but they don't. They caused the problems within their Police Dept. and Justice system. If anything, they support the thugs. So why should the Federal government force their way into that situation to expend limited time and resources when they didn't ask for our help. We have much more pressing things to attend to where we need to focus. Portland is not that high on the priority list right now beyond protecting Federal property and personnel. The left is using Portland as a distraction for the Administration and to cause disruption. Why play into their hands?
Antifa pretty much controls Portland, and those antifa in portland are likely sent all over the country wherever they are needed. The federal govt has plenty of resources, and taking down antifa leadership in their home territory is a perfectly acceptable use of some of our vast resources
I agree. Portland is a home base for Antifa. ( I spent lots of time in Portland and know the place well.) The politics of Portland is very accommodating. I still think the Trump administration is going to concentrate on intel gathering, containment, and taking down the kingpins. If you cut off the money, most of the street thugs will go away since they won't be getting paid. It does take time to build RICO cases and the tentacles of that octopus are international. When the administration does decide to move, it will be broad and it will be swift.
As far as resources, every department has a budget they must operate within. Therefore, the resources they do have, which are large compared to the private sector, still have to be targeted - they are not unlimited. However, I must say that Trump and company are very creative at where to tap for additional funding. Cutting the workforce in certain areas does free up some money that is better spent somewhere else - like domestic terrorism. I trust what Trump is doing in these cities. There is a plan. We just have to be patient and wait to see what it ends up being.
