My mother-in-law was from the south. She said the coffee was named after a famous Nashville hotel restaurant that she and her husband went to on their first date. They both attended Vanderbilt University and drank Maxwell House until they died, admitting like my parents that it was not the same taste after the 1990's.
Master Blend. That's the term! Used to be better tasting according to my late parents. They stopped buying it in the early 1990's. The plastic container really turned my mom off. I remember growing up with the smell - from a can - of Maxwell House percolating in the morning. After my dad passed away my mom drank various ground bean combinations.
It used to be a premium brand, but that was before custom roasted beans became popular. I bought some once out of nostalgia. The brewed coffee tasted like plastic dirt. Not the stuff I remember back when I was growing up.
Kek... that's just sad. As usual, it will have the reverse effect. Remind consumers living in apartments that they've been conned in more ways than one.
Personally, I think Maxwell House coffee is the best there is. I think this is a marketing ploy kinda like the "new Coke" we got a few years ago. Everyone demanded the Coke Classic and sales went through the roof. Same strategy I believe.
They were going to go with Maxwell Timeshare, where once you took an in-store sample, you were shrinkwrap-contractually obligated to receive 5 in-store coffee enemas before you could leave
The comments are gold. 'Maxwell Shack' 🤣
When it gets to Maxwell Cell then we know things have become serious.

If Democrats have 10 more years, it will be Maxwell 'Tent-Under-A-Bridge'.

Master Blend. It's actually ok, but you gotta make it stout imo.

Maxwell Smart would have known better.
Maxwell Drip would have also been better. And they attach big fake gold thugg chains on the container that hang around the label

Psh, they're a little behind the times, Maxwell Shack would be more fitting, or Tent for some lol
At this moment in time, most of us can't even afford a Maxwell Sleeping Bag.
For real, Maxwell Place would have been a lot better.
Maxwell Apartment - good to the last pod.
A sure sign that they’re reformulating and crapping it up.
