But yet people are joining in droves. I will never leave the Church Jesus Christ founded. Focus on HIM. The rest is distraction. Leo XIV is not God. He is a fallible frail human being, as we all are. Pray for him.
People just can’t separate doctrine and belief from the Pope. We have had awesome Popes like Pius X and shitty ones. It’s a 2 thousand year old organization, it’s bound to happen. It’s a shame Cardinal Sarah had no shot of getting elected.
TLM parishes like SSPX and FSSP are exploding in popularity though. People don’t want watered down mega church Churches anymore.
We will take back the Church from the Marxists, Freemasons and Zionists who infiltrated it. They cannot keep dancing around the TLM.
Hoping to be confirmed by next year. I am a former Protestant. Raised Presbyterian. Sola Fide and Sola Scriptura just aren’t supported by scripture and the Eucharist is the blood and body of Jesus Christ.
Here’s a hot take that will piss off a lot of people here. I could argue that the Protestant reformation was the most destructive event in Western Civilization and opened the flood gates of sin as the inevitable result of Sola Scriptura is the fake and gay Protestant Churches we see everywhere now. I mean the Church of England for example is a disaster now. Also with the millions of people killed in wars like the 30 years war. Also with the war on beauty that Protestants started. Protestants also started the war on the SACRAMENT of marriage. I capitalized that on purpose cause marriage is a sacrament.
I have gotten a lot of crap from people on here and in real life mostly older people for coming to Catholicism but young people like me are done with Pastor Bob worshipping Israel or woke watered down churches. We want the Eucharist, we want tradition, we want reverence and beauty. That’s why Gen Z and millennials are coming to Catholicism and Orthodoxy in droves.
We look at this world of chaos and start looking for the truth and we find that the decline of beauty, the moral decline, the disaster of secularism etc all traces back to the Protestant Reformation and it’s consequences. By undermining the authority of the Church it broke the unity that European’s had. Which the enemies of Christ and the Church (Zionists, Free masons, Marxists etc.) took advantage of.
Not pissed off, but still think you're mistaken. Even in the most charitable ant-protestant take, the reformation kicked the Catholic church into badly-needed internal reforms that would not have happened without it.
And as for the abandonment of beauty: as much as the Catholics' millennia of accumulated beauty is worth treasuring, they have plenty of blandly hollow and overly commercial junk in their art collection as well. The hymn "Amazing Grace" has probably brought more people into sincere lives of prayer than the Sistine Chapel, as marvelous as the painted work is.
I wish you well as a Catholic, and I sincerely respect Catholic believers and priests, the majority of whom lead exemplary moral lives, but pissing on the legacy of Protestantism as a whole is mistaken. It appears to be a cherry-picking approach that overlooks large swathes of the Roman Catholic legacy that are equally deserving of scorn. Blessings and congratulations on your upcoming confirmation.
Excuse me? What part of “Peter, thou art Rock and upon this Rock I will build my Church” don’t you understand? And YES Catholics teach the Bible. I’m a Catechism teacher and the Bible is taught. It sounds as if someone connected to the Catholic Church hurt you. I guess I’ve been blessed to be surrounded by amazing priests and religious and I belong to a phenomenal parish. And for that I am eternally grateful. I’m truly sorry you may not have had a similar experience. Please know I will pray for you to let go of the bitterness you have towards the Church. God bless❤️
First of all I taught Catechism classes also. After being away and really understanding the Bible and reading it the Catholic church does not teach it to its true meaning. I can't tell you in 48 years that no one has ever picked up a Bible and read it while being in the Catholic Church they only take Snippets. When was the last time a church talked about the devil or hell?
I also paid close attention when I was older and the people in the Catholic Church are not praising God they're praising the priest the Pope the statues that are in the church. They are worshiping the Catholic church and not Christianity. I have been in several Catholic churches my sister taught in the Catholic Church. I had a very wide exposure to the Catholic church.
I did come to realize that we had a priest as a close family friend who was from Poland they came to this country. What I saw the hierarchy and the Catholic Church do was enough for me.
It wasn't till I found a standalone bible-based church that I realize how bad the Catholic Church truly is.
There is nothing anywhere that proves the Catholic church was the first and only church that's only taught to the Catholics.
You draw a lot of conclusions G. Don’t paint everything and everyone with the same brush. So you hate the Catholic Church. You left her. What do you gain by spewing your disdain and hatred for the rest of us who stay because we love the Sacraments and Tradition? If you’re happy with the church you found, more power to you. Satan is very happy to watch Christians tear each other apart. It does no one any good. I love my Catholic Faith. You love yours. Let’s leave it at that. Because nothing you say will ever make me leave mine. Nothing I say will ever make you leave yours. Peace be with you b

THANK YOU!!
The Catholics are the ones that tell you that that is the church that Jesus found.
They don't teach the Bible and you would find out that's not true.
