Rand is yet another part of the government who is not essential.
His father should be ashamed.
And some of his positions are extremely unessential like his stance on giving illegals citizenship.
Rand has been as useless as any liberal.

Roughly 9 out of 10 "republican" senators voted to certify a fraudulent election in 2020- Rand Paul was not one of them. While Rand does piss me off at times, it would be foolish to gamble on a "republican" replacement for him, or worse, a democrat.
No, he has a loser mentality. Are there senators i want gone before him? Absolutely, damn near every one. But he is not one I want to keep either. A few good votes doesnt make him worthwhile. He doesn’t have the fight in him.

Government is a leech on society
The "jobs" it creates are at the expense of the private sector. Limited government is what our founders had in mind. There are some things that make sense for a government to fund, like the military, border patrol, embassies, etc. But the founders never envisioned the federal government being the 2nd largest employer in the country.
A resounding "No!" We don't need 87.549% of federal shee-ite.

Yes and no because we were hearing of airport delays due to air traffic controllers being out. I’m not sure if that was worked out or not. I’m sure this shutdown will be used to trim the fat but we may need some of those people.
I did hear (probably here) that when the government needs to prop up employment numbers, they open positions in the government. Not essential, not even useful, but it makes the numbers look better. So yeah, most employees were hired to make the government job numbers look good. My DH spent most of his adult life working for the government, and said they could do without about 80% of their office and still work just fine.
