I bet they do just make up results, like those stories of identical twins getting different results or even people sending in two samples from themself under different names and getting wildly different reports.
That’s correct, they have changed my brother in law race and he asked me if I wanted to do it and I did but don’t recall what company and they said I don’t have any Spanish on me which is a lied, they said I have African American so I figured they are crazy. I am 50% German and 25% Spaniard and 25% Panamanian. It is funny the way they do it, friking evil psychopaths, it was long time ago though, they fell for this when I didn’t know better. I will find out what company.
I'll assume our privacy will be invaded even if it was a family member who fell for this. In my case, my mom did it, maybe a sibling or two. So am I retarded to assume that floats on over to myself and my kids somehow? Just curious.
Yeah I also wonder as my sister and her daughter (my niece) did this hook, line, sinker
She was disappointed in results ( she and daughter are kinda liberal and I think she was hoping for some people of color somewhere because she’s a bit “ swarthier than the rest of us)
She was baffled that there was none and was also surprised at the Viking percentage (Danish)
I’ve maintained since childhood that I’m the only Viking in the family— 😆😆😆
It’s basically a $100 load of crap imo
A friend of mine did this and found out he was 1% black so that’s what he told the census lady that came by to jot down in her log… she just stared at him since he’s whiter than a ghost. 😆 But he insisted. Too funny.
I have ancestors report as black and later mulatto on censuses. I know for a fact they weren't. They were native american and probably feared being put on a reservation.
Irritatingly at least two sisters and my Mom did this. It’s infuriating because although it’s not mine, it’s close enough for these people to weaponize it.
REMINDER : linda avey, paul Ccusenza, and anne wojcicki (Sister of susan diane wojcicki who was the chief executive officer of YouTube from 2014 to 2023) founded 23andMe in 2006 to offer genetic testing and interpretation to individuals. I knew to stay away from this, though I'm not stupid enough to believe they don't already have my DNA through other measures.
However the real reason I resisted using anything like this is because I believe the truly sinister plan is to diminish cultures through fake results.
A buddy of mine knew he was 100% German. He follows his family tree as far back as the 1600s.
Then he did 23& me, and suddenly he's a mutt. 30% Irish, 15% Slav or some shit.

I think they got mine during Covid testing.

Please inform your buddy he fully qualifies for the Officer Corps of the Waffen-SS due to his impeccable bloodline.
23&me customers:
They didn't spot the 23&me bullshit. They didn't spot the Covid bullshit.

They've caught criminals and at least one famous serial killer because of family members submitting samples.

One drop is all you need to check the box!
I got that as a Christmas gift from my mom some years back. I promptly burned it when she left. I knew better than to give them that data.
Send the dogs dna just to see what happens.

My son received a kit from his wife's family for Christmas one year. Ugh.😔

I wonder if she misses her sister?
Why should I have paid money for them to tell me I am 5% black? Can I have a certificate to that effect and walk around saying Monika 🤣😂
So you can know that you are more native American than Pocohontas?
