I have walked around tunnels around the Library of Congress decades ago, and there’s also tunnels only for staff members (I believe Congressional staff to go from the Congressional office buildings over to the main Capitol building) and for them to go to the Lib.of Congress buildings.
What you are writing about on the other side of the Capitol and over to the White House would be interesting to know about. I had a friend who was a Capitol Police officer, but never asked him about the tunnels. I think I asked him about the Dirksen Senate offices and the exterior zodiac symbols around the first floor windows, as well as in a Senate meeting room.
