AI is just advanced chatbots that they were hoping would somehow magic sauce themselves into self aware machines. They now realize the chatbots have reached their peak.
There has been so much investment. Soon OpenAI will default on some of their loans if they manage to not find more investors. It has become a ponzi scheme in the sense that they have to keep finding money to service debt, while taking on new debt. It is not sustainable for eternity. At some point they will need to make money...
However, aside from ChatGPT, that is widely used, there is no real product and this product has a few problems: First, it is not getting much better. New versions provide very little new functionality. And second, almost no one is prepared to pay for ChatGPT as a service (or any LLM for that matter). LLM useage has mostly been free to get the users hooked, such that at a later date OpenAI could start charging for useage. However, this "freemium" model does not work. People will not be paying for anything an LLM can offer.
People in general have become sick of AI-voices and AI-generated imagery. There are a few funny applications, like bigfoot in the woods type videos. I have seen a few dozen of Dumbledore advice videos. Those are funny too. But that is about it...
Oh, also, let's not forget there are plenty of open source LLMs that are getting very good and efficient. You can run those on your laptop and it will not cost you anything.
Seems like Elon, with all his DoD contracts (which is taxpayer money let's not forget!), is not worried in the least about any bubble, and also has devised a way to not be an utter drag on the power grid around his datacenter.
Question is, what the hell do they plan to do with it? All that shit just for Grok?? No way.
What are We The People funding such massive datacenters for? And since when did we vote to spend money on them?
Our tax dollars used on these sorts of projects should come with automatic shareholdings in the company. Since We The People funded it, We should get a cut.
When will the Bubble Pop?

A really good article. Amazing detail! And eye-opening if, as it appears, that this was written by an AI.
Thanks for posting!
"that this was written by an AI."
...it is my understanding that this is a consortium of contributors doing this...
...but ultimately, who knows...
God bless you for your participation...
Look at wages compared to SPY. In the previous bubble (dotcom bubble) avg salary / spy = 600 shares a year. Today its 100 shares.
But nope, not a bubble.

...chatbots with downdoot powar! Looks like you offended one (;

right.
Maybe it's in the works, part of the sovereign wealth fund Trump has mentioned and the dividends he'll be paying out, note, not stimulus payments.
Being funded with fiat before it crashes?
I don't know, but you make a fine point.
Let's analyze this debate:
THOSE WHO WANT THE AI BUBBLE TO POP:
>Freelance artists, authors, animators, etc. - AI obviously threatens their job security
>PC Gamers - AI is eating into the PC hardware market driving prices up sky high, and the only way to bring them down is the bubble bursting
>Rival country economies - AI is an arms race
THOSE WHO DON'T:
>Tech corpos - especially the ones producing AI like Google, Meta, etc.
>AI Stock shareholders - Obviously because all their investments will go down the drain
>Every other industry propped up by AI
Find IBM 's CEO words on the matter. The electrical system cannot hold their need. The chips cannot process their demand.
Because the bankers got caught short in a rising market and now they are hoping to pull their irons out of the fire and make there bonuses?
