I think adults should have the right to playact that way if they want (yes, even including at least some level of bodily mutilations...), and not be forced into getting psychiatric help for it, but they should still be seen as having a mental disorder they can get help for if they are willing to accept it. Because as long as they don't try to use it for fraud etc and it remains as mostly playacting it can remain as a mostly harmless eccentricity by the individual as far as other people are concerned.
But trying to claim it as something normal, much less trying to force others to accept it as normal, that was going way overboard with the whole thing.

Agreed. I thought it was funny that my bulldyke lesbian friend completely agrees. She was the one telling me trannies are mentally ill and half kill themselves. She also told me she and "normal gays" should be decreasing in numbers. Asked her why and she explained that more gay people were passing on gay biology to offspring in the past. Said when it wasn't socially acceptable lesbian couples would marry a gay male couple to hide in a community often even having children. She said she was born in the sixties from this exact scenario for parents.

For the most part they let their talents speak for themselves as do most non- gays. As MLK would say, judged by the quality of their character. Perhaps, what I find so distasteful today is that the militants have few endearing qualities to define themselves by. Screaming, yelling, carrying signs and acting like freaks and morons is a sign of emotional and mental disorder that show the world they should be institutionalized, not celebrated. It has nothing to do with sexual preference and everything to do with mental illness demanding to be accepted as normal.
