I have been thinking about this one. Trump is America first and I think his main objective with Venezuela is to eradicate our foreign adversaries’ influence from our backyard. Things like voter fraud and money laundering to undermine the US.
I think the sanctions for the last twenty years by the globalists are there mostly to control and to extort Venezuela, by the deep state, to destabilize America.
So Trump makes a deal. We get Maduro and all of the deep state secrets and we will purchase the oil that our enemies have been purchasing from them. They will even get a better return on the oil in the long run. Hopefully Maduro and his wife are willing assets that are ready to name names and expose all that worked to destroy us.
Also in return, Venezuela gets to keep their current regime but they will be unburdened by the globalist oligarchs that have them under their thumb. It will be a wink and a nod to “We may have our differences, but let’s keep it in the family”. The American family.

One to thwart the globalists and the other to actually remove a dictator that was part of transnational criminal money laundering and terrorist activities. Both were knee capped. Trump is in control of what's left of Maduro's team because most of them also have criminal warrants that can be executed at any time if they do not cooperate. At the same time, Trump keeps the globalists from pulling off their own stunt. Trump is operating levels ahead of them. In one move he is clearing several players off the board.
