My favorite moment of the Cold War, and probably the most satisfying event, happened in Albania when dictator Nicolai Ceausescu was haranguing yet another crowd at some political event... all was going OK, as usual, until suddenly the crowd turned, against him in a very vocal way.
Decades of pent-up frustration, fear, and anger suddenly erupted and before he knew it, Albanians started freeing themselves from the Communist dictatorship. The police and army joined in quickly. Ceausescu fled the scene but was captured soon, put before a quick tribunal, and executed by firing squad a day or two later alongside his equally tyrannical wife. Tied to upright poles and shot.
In a matter of about 72 hours, Ceausescu went from absolute dictator to a bullet ridden corpse. ** Sic semper tyrannis.**
BTW: I don't quite remember exactly, but you said he was shot (bullet ridden corpse) and I always thought he and his wife were hanged without trial? Perhaps both is correct...
And my dad cheered when that little piece of Deep State finally went down. He kept fiddling with his "HELP!!!" emergency security watch/transmitter, hoping for a last minute reprieve. Nope.
It's important that everyone see this happening & realize the delicate nature of "maintaining control" over the population - because once control is lost - the mob will go critical and lynch everyone in their path.
I don't know if there's looting going on...but I'm leaning towards "no" - If this is truly "organic" - and these people are smart enough and civilized enough to not steal from their friends/family/community...or at least that's the sentiment I got watching Iran videos this past year (dude "vacations" and videos people he encounters)

What breaks is the forces realize they gotta kill thousands i. Order to stay in power and they gotta do it publicly. Most people arent down for that if they have a waynout. O saw army and civilians hugging each other. So the people are not alone against the guard.
