I see elderly suffering every day. Medicaid recipients get rides to appointments, can go into assisted living without any troubles, but my 80-year-old aunt canāt afford either with her 40 year nursing social security check. Itās just sad that the people who paid taxes all their life get screwed. It should be the opposite.

I think the roots of this are in FDRs New Deal. Programs set up to help temporarily became permanent, and then LBJ sealed the the welfare state in the 60s.
Any time money is being handed out people will line up to get ātheirsā. Itās human nature. End all these fake compassion programs. Itās the only way to keep them from being exploited by parasites. Let the politicians fund their own campaigns iykwim.
I worked at a place where clients were provided with expensive restaurant catered meals. Unused food containers were taken to the shipping department after the clients had finished eating where a mob would descend on them. Everybody there sacrificed their dignity for a āfree mealā. The price was too high for me. Iām not rich or even well off but I could afford to provide modestly for myself. I had to work with these people so I kept my contempt for them in check by reminding myself Iām worse in many ways, but it reassures me that āGod is merciful and loves mankindā. Iāve got plenty to repent myself, but donāt feel obligated to live beneath a cloud of shame. Lord have mercy.
Yes, I collect Social Security now, but itās money they took from me coming back, so not a āfree mealā. Had what they collected from me been placed in a Dow index fund in my name Iād be a millionaire now, but instead I squeak by on 2K/month. I could have invested for myself but didnāt. My fault. Had I the chance to do it over knowing what I do now I might have. I do recommend it. Also donāt tell anyone especially your family youāve done it, or your own kin will regard you as a āfree mealā. Lord have mercy.

There needs to be an American restoration payment. Billions have been pilfered via fraud and other means. It's time the taxes get cut too
