Did a search - got the answer of no. May have to wear it for a week after surgery but it’s not a life sentence.
That's weird. I have a family member who may need to get his removed, and they're telling him that he'll have to wear one permanently if they do.
Maybe if you choose the cheapest option... Get a better surgery done, pay a little more and you won't need to ...
