Defense Minister Marcelo Salinas said the Hercules C-130 plane was transporting newly printed Bolivian currency when it “landed and veered off the runway”.
Plane was arriving, not leaving. Plane was operated by Bolivian gov't, carrying newly-printed Bolivian cash from the mint. Rumors about flying to Mexico for the cartels are dumb, unless this article is totally false.
The C-130 is operated by over 40 foreign air forces worldwide, including nations such as Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, and many others. It is used for a wide range of missions, including tactical airlift, search and rescue, aerial refueling, maritime patrol, and humanitarian aid.
In addition to military use, the C-130 has a civilian counterpart — the Lockheed L-100 — and its modernized version, the LM-100J, which is used by commercial cargo operators like Lynden Air Cargo.
C'mon Cats. This is a knee-jerk post by someone who didn't even read the article they're posting about, and added a fake story about Mexican cartels for clicks. Mr Ultra-Maga Dean Erickson is looking straight at a turkey and telling you it's a duck.

Which is why I pointed out the click-bait headline.

7/10, but yeah. But this one looks like an actual accident, and this Twitter poster looks like a creative rumor-monger. The article is straightforward and Mexican cartels aren't likely to use this Bolivian currency.
The plane may have been carrying $Billions in Bolivian cash... which at present market value, 1 Bolivian Boliviano equals 0.14 United States Dollar.
1 Billion Boliviano would be about $145,000.
Assuming the money was all in 100 Boliviano notes (probably was), so each bill would be valued at $14 U.S., 1 Billion of them would be 10 Million bills... which is about what would fit on an aircraft carrier. A standard shipping pallet is 40" x 48". If stacked 36-inch high, that would be about 975,000 bills per pallet.
That would mean the transport plane would be carrying 10 standard pallet loads of cash, which is likely. It's still only $145,000.
What country’s ‘cash’ was it? Dollars? Pesos? Pounds? Yen?
Low info headlines drive me crazy.
Bee crazy no more.

I know that... Two family members work with them, one crew chief, one Pro Super. Was just wondering what country..
The AP article said it was owned by the Bolivian Air Force.
Not sure fren.
I didn't know... and figured others might not know either...
I wondered if the C-130 was exclusive to US military...
Understand, the venerable Herc is used my just about every country in the world.
