and i will add ss retirees to your comment about refunds...most of us had paid in for way more than 160 quarters, not just the 40 quarters requirement, and should be due a whole lot more, now that we are retired and living on a pittance, with a 2.8% increase for 2026 which was partially clawed back for higher medicare costs...meanwhile the illegals living large on ss, ebt, free houses, utilities paid, etc...
And don't forget your employer matched your payment, which was counted as a benefit in salary negotiations.
And Medicare? When I retired at 72, I was given a $900 a month price tag for Medicare coverage for me and my spouse. I and he had paid into it from its inception. The total sum of our benefits is one night in the hospital.
I cannot believe we have not gotten our promised $5000 DOGE Dividend checks and our refund of all the unconstitutional PENALTY TAXES we paid for not buying the crappy Foebamacare health insurance.
They found the individual mandate unconstitutional, but made no move to refund the penalty taxes illegally collected under the mandate.
I look at it this way. We have built the world with our money. We can consider it an investment. We own israel, most of europe, most of the middle east amd many other nations we have supported. Even canada. So we expect a return.on thst investment amd our president the chairman of the board of every place its invested.
