Eh, but of an exaggeration. The main one is Hobby in Houston, next one is New Orleans (MSY) and it’s like 77 min…everywhere is fairly normal and I’m in and out of airports half the month.
Because I can fly out of Shreveport, or any of the small airports between Shreveport and DFW. DFW is a PITA to drive through if you have to go anywhere around rush hour. Then the parking sucks, and you have to deal with a bus unless you park in the garage. Sad part is I get free airport parking and tolls with my DV license plate and I'd still rather drive to Shreveport and park right up beside the building.
I've flown enough in and out of DFW over the roughly 40 years I've traveled. At one time I did it every week - in Sunday and out Friday. Daytona to DFW. Daytona airport was the best - I've shown up there before with a checked bag after they started boarding. I still had time to get thru precheck, get a water and diet coke, and get to my seat with no issues. I did 160 segments that year - the airport people and the AA people knew me.
This includes the U.S. Coast Guard, Transportation Security Administration, Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, U.S. Secret Service, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. The rest of our federal government remains open, operational and funded at this time.
ICE is funded - the good guys funded them in the Big Beautiful Bill for this entire fiscal year. (Screw the Deep State).
Note - the Coast Guard could be funded with a stroke of Trump's Sharpie. All he has to do is call them up and put them under the Navy. This has happened before.
Here is the law:
“Upon the declaration of war if Congress so directs in the declaration or when the President directs, the Coast Guard shall operate as a service in the Navy, and shall so continue until the President, by Executive order, transfers the Coast Guard back to the Department of Homeland Security. While operating as a service in the Navy, the Coast Guard shall be subject to the orders of the Secretary of the Navy…”
He could easily call them up as support for the Strait of Hormuz.
Once this happens the Navy and DoW in general will fund them.
So, they are literally taking away the protection of the President and the citizens of our country during a time of “war”? Can’t believe more people aren’t calling them out on this.
Make IQ tests mandatory for serving in our govt. The higher the office, the higher the IQ should be. We want our best and brightest, not our worst and dimmest.
Edit:
The test should be similar to the ASVAB in size and scope. Or, it could be the ASVAB itself. I have a feeling that if we were to administer that test to every sitting member of the Legislature, some of them wouldnt even score the mandatory minimum. A 32 is a passing score just to get in. That score lets you be a basic rifleman. In contrast, a score of above 75 qualifies you to be in the Navy's nuke program ratings, but not all of them. Some req a score above 80.
It should be that way for the people we allow to make rules, regs, & laws for us, or who represent us overseas, like our diplomats.
It boggles my mind that we require a test like the ASVAB in order to defend us and kill for us, but we don't require that same test (which is one of the best indicators of overall intelligence) for anyone else in our various govts that make decisions everyday that have a greater impact than being in the military.
MY Late FATHER did the exact same thing to me...this was during the Vietnam War, graduated HS in '70 went right into the Air Force and STILL WENT TO VIETNAM-(Hint: Volunteered) 😁😁😁😁😁
Is the government still closed? Did anyone actually notice?
I didn’t know until right now the government was shut down!
Millions of airline passengers are finding out. Airports are starting to have 3-4 hour TSA lines.

Good to know. Just found out I have to fly to VA the beginning of April. Gonna try to avoid flying out of DFW.
Edit - those delays were on OAN this morning but I only caught it in passing. It may have been a talking head instead of an anchor.

Here’s the current wait times for security lines at DFW…not sure why you would avoid flying out of there

Yes, it's bad here in Houston. They had to send in TSA from Dallas to help. Some were held up 6 hours. I hope the demorats pay in the election.

Yeah, I didn't realize it was closed.
What I heard.
Air travelers did.

Get rid of the Federal Reserve and you won't have a lot of the problem. someone smart please confirm this for me.
THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT PRESIDENT TRUMP IS TRYING TO DO!!!...
Exact Amando.
I took that on my 17th birthday. The Army recruiter looked at my score and walked me to the Air Force recruiter - said I didn't belong there.

Saying the quiet part out loud again...
I think they are actors. What do you think?
Wow, they are total clowns haha
Actors, I think.
💯
I don't know about anybody else but I'm really sick of working at my age when I should be retired and paying for these people and they do nothing.
I've already accepted that I will never be able to retire.
Join the club.
