Well, we've always known we were getting screwed, we just didn't know how badly.
The governments message is clear here, you exist to serve them and their interests. Your pursuit of life, liberty and happiness is no where in their minds at all, nor do they find value for you outside of your job
As just proven yet again by Kathy Hochul's call for 'patriotic' Americans who have fled her state to 'cut them a check' to support all the 'generous' social programs!
If they could see it, the patriots at the Boston Tea Party would be aghast at how we ever let the tax tyranny get this far.

Worse. There’s 10% inflation that your salary doesn’t keep up with.
Plus the extra taxes for food, gas, clothing, housing, bills, etc etc.
If you factor in all the "legal" taxes under the color of law, the amount is closer to 50%. Property taxes, all the insane micro taxes in the energy, telecom, internet, medical, pharmaceutical sectors, auto industry, transportation infrastructure, the sales taxes, construction industry, etc. There's so many micro taxes that it's almost impossible to keep up with.
Try The Netherlands. People work 3 out of 5 days to satisfy the tax office. An these people still claim they are free,

correction: add 42 weekend days to the 106 working 148 days divided by 365 days, 40.5% year for naught, serfs only worked 1 day out of 7 for his lord. this is not a bargin.
