i really hope they start with all of the federal employees in default on student loans, then move on to the federal employees who owe back taxes...

I know people who vote primarily for the politician who will forgive their student loans.
Sadness. Of my many siblings, there is one who was deceived and has fairly severe TDS. They actually voted biden, it is the one dark blot on our family. And why did they do it? They were taken in on loan forgiveness.
Carrying a debt of... i think its only a few thousand... for years is insane.
My wife and i were idiots in college, but we got practical degrees and we got good jobs and worked hard. Between us we owed $58k from college. Even with living expenses, getting married, life, cars, we still managed to be ahead and pay it off in stride in 10 years, no worries no problem (we had special state loans with basically no interest, so we could take our time).
We now own our vehicles outright, (paid cash for the latest truck thanks to a God thing), low mortgage payments and tons of equity in the house. Home garden and finishing an addition on the house.
Make good decisions, win good prizes.
Personally -- I think the universities should be required to repay 25% to 50% of all student loans because they overcharged them in the first place. AND they should reimburse the same amount to those students whose accounts are paid in full.
Yes -- there is a lot of procrastination on the repayment of those loans. I realize that. But that still doesn't alter the fact that those schools are sitting on huge piles of money like dragons hoarding gold while young people can barely launch a successful life. And I won't even go into all the degrees in totally useless things they encouraged these poor kids to get.
Considering these places have become cesspools of communism -- letting them take the financial hit would be a plus too.

Plus, schools should really be honest on trades. I know a guy who was making 6 figures after 5 years out of high school.
Oh, and teaching ethics and personal responsability would help too.

Maybe an unpopular opinion: If you're in default on your student loans, your voting rights are suspended until they're paid.

Id be happy if tjeyd just eliminate the interest in the loans. I dont have any but i see how it snowballs for rhe poor bastards that do.
I agree. The Bible, in OT Israeli law states that you should not charge interest for borrowing.
What I don't understand, is these misguided kids will skip class and protest for men using women's bathrooms but they can't rally themselves to sit out of college for a year in protest of the grotesque fees communist institutions are charging.
Further more, I'm sick and tired of hearing about loan forgiveness and high interest rates. They signed an insecure loan. That means higher interest rates. Econ 101. Shut your pie holes and pay up

More money to give away to the Commies/Dems, I believe. I think this money should be paid to the Treasury-or the people (I'm not certain, but fairly sure Biden would have found a way to give to his party) and that should never be allowed to happen. The citizen's it was stolen from, if Biden would have taken found a way to funnel it to his party, should have if anyone is entitled to it, I believe it is WE THE PEOPLE!
