Pilots had nothing to do with the crash. ATC had their head up their ass and the firetruck driver and wingman, in that situation, should be looking up range like their lives depend on it
Thanks! didnt even see this in the article LoL .. I dont even know how you pull out on a runway without looking.. We have been out on some and its a strange feeling in a vehicle.. Hell, even on base motorcycle day, ripping down the runway felt off
Control Tower was understaffed. The ATC controller was simultaneously trying to coordinate an Emergency response to a separate incident on another plane. Land the Air Canada Flight. While keeping on top of the other multitude of tasks they do day to day.
It’ll likely point out the same problems that have been pointed out time and time again. The ATC systems are horrifically outdated and old. There’s not enough ATC controllers to go around. So the ones that are there are horrifically overworked. There’s multiple bottlenecks in the system to upgrade the system and get more controllers. That ultimately start and end with Congress.
Namely the fact Congressmen will actively sabotage attempts to open more Academies to train Air Traffic Controllers. Leaving us the all of one FAA Academy in Oklahoma. And they’ll feud over funding to get upgrades to the system.
People will then get outraged for a while. Investigations will be promised. Nothing substantial will occur aside from they’ll probably throw the controller under the bus. As while the FAA and subsequently the Executive Branch could quite rightly blame Congress. It’ll ultimately not lead to any significant changes. Because the only thing Congress hates more aside from American Citizens is accountability.

I can't even imagine driving onto an active runway and not 'looking both ways'.
I'm shocked they don't have tunnels for access or at least stop/go lights at every single crossing
Airports that size should have a ground control in charge.
Or here without the article: https://rumble.com/shorts/v77iqc6

What was Pete Buttplug doing for 4 years while he was head of transportation Dept.
"Chestfeeding".
That seems like a shockingly accurate assessment.
