This hurts.
I'm not a native, but more than twenty years ago I took a girl to that harbor on a trip. It was beautiful, and so was she.
On a clear night, beneath the moon and stars, I proposed to her on a restaurant balcony overlooking the harbor.
We're still together and I will always cherish that memory. It's heartbreaking that we can never go back there to relive it.

Used to go to Fire Fighter conventions there in the late 80's early 90's. It was a very nice place and packed with people. Getting a room was not easy. Great restaurants in the harbor and Fells Point. Now, it's a total shit hole I would 100% steer clear of. Leftist Dems destroyed the city completely. It's the east coast version of Detroit.
Actually Detroit is quite nice now. Central downtown has seen significant redevelopment under the leadership of Mayor Mike Dugan and the vision and funding of Dan Gilbert (Quicken Loans founder). Gilbert was instrumental in rejuvenating downtown Cleveland and brought the same strategy to Detroit.

Yes. Loads of fun. Great blue collar neighborhoods reminiscent of NY. For example, the Polish section had shiny white cement front stairs. Scrubbed weekly. Best Italian food in the area. Fabulous Jewish delies. Best crabakes anywhere.
Sounds like the area im from. They try to stuff condo/ housing or apartment/ housing mixes on every single inch of green space. Or property to be redeveloped. No urban planning. No community focus. No infrastructure strengthening. Just unfettered housing for no reason. It drives me up the wall
Yeah we can blame politicians, but not all of them were elected by fraud. Plenty of blame falls on the electorate and other locals. A couple years ago there was a story about a pack of youths from west Baltimore who would go to the Inner Harbor and push old white people into it. 70 iq psychopathic blacks are the problem.
Fond memories of strolling the Inner Harbor with my cousin. First time I tried a crab pretzel. Beautiful, vibrant area, lots of people strolling and enjoying the afternoon.
It's a shame, yes, but this is what the society destroyers do - deliberately. Look at the explosion of homelessness in California cities, crime in Chicago. Wherever leftists infest they destroy. Not a matter of if they'll destroy the place, but in how long it will take them to do so and in what manner.
Went there to see the Yankees play the Orioles in 2005. The place was cleaned & jammed packed with people. ANother blue $hithole run by a DEI mayor. What do people expect at this point? How is adding more apts going to help? Going to bring in more of the ghetto thats on the outside of the harbor.
