Many of our States contribute to defrauding us. My State’s Governor attempted to ram through an additional gas tax in 2025! Long before the war! People fought it valiantly-we are already taxed high enough-the opposition to the bill by common citizens and our tiny cadre of Rinos in the legislature should have killed it. But the marxist-democrats mega majority and one Rino passed it. Then she got wind of the people going to use their power of putting it on the ballot in November as our Constitution allows. So her strategy was to let the bill sit on her desk unsigned for a period of time. She thought the people wouldn’t have enough time to collect the signatures. As soon as she signed it we got in gear and collected more than enough signatures! Yeah! The gas tax would go to a VOTE of the people in November. The very election this beyotch would be on the same ballot for her second term! She & her minions couldn’t have that so she sued to get the vote changed to the primary and the fight went to our Supreme Court, who the black robed pricks moved the referendum to the primary ballot in May against our State Constitution.
No matter. We “hate” her enough. But if that bill was implemented Oregonians would be screaming about high gas prices right now. Oh, It’s the war! Boo Hoo!

I live in an area where gas is usually lower than the national average, and right now its $3.84 for 87.
I don't blame Trump or the war, but being tied to the global market. As far as the precious metals market is concerned, it looks like its heading toward a regional market system, so maybe one day the same can be said of the oil market and things like this won't be an issue.
CA imports majority of its gasoline. The few remaining gas refineries are shutting down. CA is beholden to the market price of world oil... even though it has some of the largest reserves and infrastructure to extract and refine those reserves. Oil Companies have been fleeing the state for decades. Union Oil(Unocal) was smart and exited the state almost 30 years ago. Chevron has moved its HQ and has scaled its foot print in CA to the bare bones. Oil Wells are being converted to CO2 sequestration. Its bleak... and only going to get worse.
Trump admin green lit Sable Offshore to start processing oil from their platform(s). CA then moved to revoke its pipeline from said platform(s) because it passes through a State Park. You think that pipeline was put across a State Park in secret? No it was fully authorized.. but that is the state of affairs in present day CA.
The West in particular already had high fuel costs due to the Newscum policies of shutting down fossil fuel for their green utopia. I live in Nevada, and since we get our fuel from CA we were already paying higher prices before any action in Iran took place. The libs are attempting to shift the blame for their recklessness onto Trump and the war.
I think Trump's timing to take out the DS in Iran was perfect. Towards the end of winter and the heating season, so higher prices have less effect on people try to stay warm. It's also well before the summer driving season, so much less impact and lower prices than if this operation had begun 2 months later and with some time to recover if supplies get tight.
