I'd bet money they were trafficking and abusing these kids and the $1M was a means to that end... Not "no more" scumbags.

Oh good. When I read "cuts $11M contract", my first thought was that he MADE a contract with them. I'm glad that's not true.
Liberals are the first to cry for separation of church and state, but are okay with the state funding their operations. If you're going to be a Non-Governmental Organization, don't expect the government to fund you. There are 1.4 billion catholics in the world, let them fund these charities.
It's about time! As a catholic. I am so sick of this corrupt and evil organization using our name to project allegience with our faith.

Separation of Church and State?
Why does the catholic church need money from the federal government? If they cannot afford a program it is up to the Church to figure a way to make it happen, and not with the use of public funds. Have a raffle, get more parishioners to pay their tithes, have a message that will entice more folks to want to join their church?
I dont feel bad for the kids doing without because the church should be the ones to fund these types of activities within their churches. How about going to the Vatican and asking for funds? Why go to the US taxpayer? Seems a little odd to me.
