Lighting, shadows and contrast are things. Images broadcast from a cramped mobile broadcast booth or a network studio have parameters beyond what we see in daily life.

To give it the benefit of the doubt… if the network used some sort of face enhancing software to improve the lighting on the face against the green screen (obviously used if he was in a van), which might smooth the wrinkles too. The operator might have created an oval face enhancement area, which would cut off at that neck spot. Now, I don’t know if that is what happened, but with AI enhancements in all media, it’s possible.

As long as their are potential other explanations and nob reason for a admiral to need a fake person in a mask representing him, to claim that absolute is actually the peak of naivity and the opposite of critical thinking. It could easily be an AI enhancement. Check yiur confirmation bias. Something is not right obviously. But we can not know by just this info alone which it is.
