He was groomed by Mitch for years to take over. Scott and Cornyn wanted it so bad but Thune was always going to win. Remember - the Republican leader in the Senate controls 1 or 2 big PACS, and they don't really use them to help fund just any old R candidate. They use it to keep their RINO friends in the Senate.
That's why the Texas senate race was so expensive - Cornyn is in their little clique of power. The PACS could've used it to fund candidates that needed major funding to overcome an incumbent, but they knew Paxton would kill Cornyn once Hunt was no longer in the race taking votes from Paxton that could've kept us from having a run-off.
Find out what foreign country owns him then try and execute Thune as the traitor he is.

I’ll bet if they had a roll call vote and we could see how each senator voted, it would pass. Anyone voting against it would surely be jeopardizing his seat.
He doesn't give a shit. He'll just get absorbed into the private sector like all retired politicians do. It's naive to think he'd care at this point. He's made his money and connections, now he can exit into a quiet life of still ripping us off, but in the guise of some corporation.

Why Trump supported him to replace McConnel is still a mystery to me. Thune was always a RINO and many knew when the chips were down he'd stab Trump and the MAGA patriots in the back.
