Think about it. Under BO and Biden, coal plants were regulated out of existence. The only way solar could ever produce more electricity than coal required persecuting and shutting coal-fired power plants down.
It is a meaningless number. They are trying to "show the strength of solar". Panels have to be maintained, take up large area's of land, degrade over time, cost more than coal.
But they produced more energy than coal which Biden basically eliminated. Wow, solar is so fucking cool man! Until winter comes to Texas, or wherever you live.
Im glad I've got trees on my property. Solar would be nice, but my pockets have so many holes in them from trying to keep up with the green agenda, I'm too poor to afford the panels. Plus the batteries would probably explode and burn down my house. Ugh
or hailstorms the size of baseballs raining down from the heavens! so when the solar panels get bashed to hell, what happens to all the chemicals they were made with?? having seen a few of these massive solar "farms", i wondered why they didn't put windmills on the same land with solar farms?
Around here I see some solar farms. I spoke with one of the farmers about it. He had some acreage that did not really produce well and was a pain to farm. So he decided to farm the sun instead. Basically turned his least valuable piece of land into guaranteed income.
I don’t believe them. I would need some numbers from an independent source. How much was subsidized? Could it stand on its own without subsidies? How much of these areas were propped up with other sources? How much did electric bills rise in these areas?
I am a big fan of Elon Musk on pretty much everything. Except for his push for solar. I suspect a lot of smoke and mirrors from those pushing solar power. But if it can stand on its own without subsidies, let the best source win.
It is too bad they try to make everything black and white or a competition. Solar, coal, natural gas, hydro, etc. can all be used in ways that make sense for each area of the country - give incentives to develop ways to be as eco friendly as possible - it shouldnt be all or nothing.
I mean, solar just doesn't work in many places and they indeed use Coal and Oil - take Kauai, Hawaii for example - solar doesn't work there (room as well as having the raniest place on earth there) and they have oil burning power plants and import in the oil. Wave power I would think would be in use there, but I'm sure that's regulated against.
Covering farmland with this toxic crap should be illegal. I’m always amazed how the tree huggers applaud this, but don’t want anyone building a homestead on the same land.
Is that airable land filled with heat producing mirrors? No food being produced and more heat for global warming. And lots and lots of environmental waste and Chinese profits.

I guess its because all the coal that didnt identify itself as "beautiful" has been thrown out 🤣
Black Coal Matters.
There are miles of solar panels sitting where used to be valuable farmland.

Look at that beautiful grass under these things.
