Sounds like they are pointing to the EXIF information in the picture's metadata. Depending on how the camera is configured, it will store the time the picture was taken, the camera model, exposure, focal length, and even the GPS and direction the camera was pointed (once again, depending on the camera set up).

I participate here and over there. I honestly never followed Q, so I mostly just lurk over here to get the scoop and entertain the ideas from the people who have studied it. I like the optimism, energy, and outlook from the folks over here. It's really helpful when things seem so dismally wrong. So thank you for that.
