i had a friend who did some work up there in Salem and he got a brief history lesson of what really happened.
what had happened was there was a shipment of bred being sold to the people in salem, but the woman didnt have quality control over the food and the shipment took so long that the bred started molding. not just any mold, it was psychedelic, and anyone who ate the bred went on a crazy trip and they blamed it on witchcraft.

i was in a chatroom and someone was talking about wanting to engage in a traditional relationship. he was a young man and asked a lady's parents their permission to date their daughter etc, and i was giving advice saying i like traditional relationships and thought his efforts were very sweet and awesome and a They/Them butted in and said "your label calling yourself traditionalist is very exclusionary. very insulting to us They/Them/Etc type folk. You're a CIS or (other word i dont know)"
