discussing the 2021 financial statement Trump signed.

Trump brings up the 2021 valuation of the joint venture, but says he wasn’t really involved with it.

Trump says he was very busy as president.

“And just to refresh your recollection, you were not president in 2021?” Wallace asks.

“No I wasn’t,” Trump says, over-pronouncing the words a bit.

Jan 15 2021, Trump reinstated himself as a trustee and thus, the person who would sign statements of financial worth.

Early in the trial they showed that on January 15, 2021 Trump reinstated himself as trustee of the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust, This is the trust that holds all or almost all of his assets and was set up when Trump was going to become president.

I know this has been discussed on and off, but here it is from Trump himself.

I'm not sure what it is. But sounds painful.

Snowblindness sounds like no joke. There's amazing documentary on Netflix of this guy who climbed the 14 highest peaks....in the same year I think.

He has these awesome eye goggles that I wanted....they're like 800 bucks.

This partygoer had to go to the hospital. It's like a sunburn of the eye.

https://x.com/crypto_birb/status/1721222853394121193?s=20

Still, as dozens of others, I’ve almost lost sight this night.

I’m being taken care of by doctors now and have only good intentions writing this post.

To all my friends who suffer now: go get your eyes checked. You’ve likely most literally got your eyes burnt with UV like I did, which requires medications, eye drops, eye protection, antibiotics and specialist care. Don’t ignore this health hazard. Without proper treatment, it may cause long lasting vision impairment and other serious damage.

To the organisers: For the communication & awareness reasons, it would be fair to put together an official statement with recommendations what to do, as dozens of people you care about were exposed to serious health hazards and lots of suffering. You’re good guys so it should be easy for you to recognise the seriousness of it.

So many of my friends are still unaware they must seek medical help to make sure they end up with no damage, as well. Please go get your eyes checked immediately. We’ve most likely been exposed to experience similar to Mt Everest climbers - snow blindness.

“Snow blindness is caused by unprotected exposure of the cornea and conjunctiva to ultraviolet (UV) light, specifically UV-B. Snow blindness is therefore sunburn of the eye and can be extremely painful.”

All medical costs rounded up to $3,000 HKD ($380 USD) for me. Some friends called in ambulance for themselves. Still, all together it’s not expensive. Please go get your eyes checked.

Saw this going around on twitter. APEFEST, a party in Hong Kong used the type of UV lights used for disinfection as regular lighting and caused some people to have photokeratitis

Apefest is produced by the Bored Ape Yacht Club, a NFT company.
NFTs are digital collectible art.

Looks like a lot of people who bought @yugalabs bored apes for the art might not be able to enjoy the art thanks to @yugalabs #ApeFest causing photokeratitis from the UV of the lights on the main stage. #rekt

Photokeratitis is what welders can get or mountain climbers. Also known as snowblindness.

We're about an hour in and the testyness level has jumped up a bit in the last half hour.

Judge has asked Chris Kise to "control your client." Later he told Alina Habba to "Sit Down."

yeah, I just went to find those specific links and you can't do it while it's live.

there's other livestreams on youtube too.

AP has a boring livestream from the hallway outside the courtroom!

here's Trump. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNrjekgpezs

Oops, here's Trump

I thought someone snuck a camera into the courtroom.

For those who haven't clicked. It's just a sidewalk shot of the court building. Just people walking up steps every now and then.

JollyRancherHard 4 points ago +5 / -1

Courtroom is packed as you would predict. The overflow room is full and there's a second overflow room.

There's something like 6 court sketch artists who are working today. Trial is not televised.

Rolling Stone Claims this will be the strategy

Trump and His Lawyers Dare NY Judge to Throw Him in Jail

As Donald Trump prepares to take the stand in the civil fraud trial that could destroy his business empire, the ex-president and his attorneys have settled on a strategy built on spite and unbridled antagonism. According to two sources familiar with the matter and another person briefed on Team Trump’s legal strategies, the former president and his lawyers are intentionally trying to provoke the judge into a nuclear-level overreaction.

Inviting that kind of response could even lead to the judge ordering Trump to be remanded to a jail cell for the night. The judge in the case had already imposed a gag order on Trump, warning him to refrain from attacks on the judge’s staff. Late last week, the order was expanded to also include Trump’s attorneys. Trump has still shown a brazen willingness to violate it repeatedly. And as bizarre as it may sound, there are attorneys and political advisers to Trump who have told the former president that a so-called “remand order” to put him in custody for repeatedly breaching the judge’s rulings might be a good thing — both legally and politically.

How does this

Trump still had DoE security clearance related to at least one charged document as recently as July 2023"

And the page you linked to

The National Nuclear Security Administration's page on Maintaining the Stockpile.

relate to the myth that Trump kept the nuclear football?

I see no connection.

To make my point clearer. The people who carry the nuclear football do not need DOE clearance. Their clearance is from the Department of Defense

Federal courts existed before television.

They are open to the public. Sam Bankman-Fried, John Gotti, Bernie Madoff all got convicted without televised trials.

Several reporters on Twitter have been live blogging the trial that's probably the best blow by blow you can find.

I remember one case he won.

It affected a small number of votes I believe.

A battle, not the war as it were.

If you look closely at what?

Revisions are the standard way the BLS does the job numberaf. Same way they did it under Trump. The numbers are not false..... it's preliminary

The first number they come out with is the iinitial estimate. Next month is first revision, second month is the final revision.

It's been this way for decades.

Revisions can go up or down.

If you look at that chart there's one significant revision

I think they ruled executive privilege was not absolute https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/418/683/ PRIMARY HOLDING The President cannot shield himself from producing evidence in a criminal prosecution based on the doctrine of executive privilege, although it is valid in other situations.

Yes, I'm agreeing. Saying the trials are further evidence against that theory.

You also can't prosecute a sitting President.
