Tbh, regardless of why they're shutting down it's probably not the worst thing in the world. Big box stores aren't very good for the local economy. It's very well researched and documented that once big box stores move into a community, small locally owned businesses suffer and less money flows back into the economy of the area.

The number of local breweries across America producing easy drinking pilsners and lagers is astronomical. Why anyone would want to choose a lesser product from a massive conglomerate which in most cases are not American owned (Budweiser is owned by InBev which is Belgian and Coors is only partially American owned, the other half being Canadian) is beyond me.

To be fair, they couldn't probably take more than 10 calls at a time and certainly couldn't accept calls after 3pm because of Feierabend. This is how "efficient" Germany is at anything.

Lewis Black has a bit about how they've been changing their minds about eggs since the 70's. This is nothing new

I mean, it's not bad advice. All these devices we're constantly staring at can fry a person's brain. Sleep deprivation leads to a lot worse things than not keeping up with every BREAKING news story in real time.

Currently living in Berlin. Just got an email saying our heating will be double from last year and my landlord will only be turning on the heat during the day, until 8pm

Yay.

Think about how low these photographs are. If Joe stood up, the large photo behind the lamp would be just above knee height.

I think the biggest mindfuck is that the are almost no shadows in the photo and the ones that are there are totally inconsistent and don't make any sense
