If there's more "terra firma" beyond the Antarctic ice wall, then that would indeed change all the math and calculations. Who knows what's beyond? The earth could be 10x, 100x, 1000x larger than what we know about. And if that were the case, it could then possibly be a sphere and all the telescopic photographs of things that we can see that don't work on a 3950mile radius globe might work on a 39,500mile radius globe. It's a possibility anyway.

Your problem is that the circumference of the meridian at 60 degrees south latitude is much shorter than the circumference of the equator. This has been an absolute fact since the world has been navigated, and is related to the use of Great Circle routes as the shortest distances, not unreal straight lines on an unreal (non-existent) flat Earth map.
