Ask your boss if the company is prepared to pay all your medical bills if you have an adverse reaction, including paying your wages if you miss work and for perpetuity if you die from it.

Don't worry, no one lost their home as a result.

Remember, no one owns anything, it all belongs to the state. Only the CCP lost homes.

Born and raised in SF

In 2016 I drove down to LA, through the central valley. The non stop support for Trump was overwhelming. Bay area and LA are big, I get it... but closet Trump supporters are a legit thing even where it's 'blue'. And you know there if you were going to be a closet voter you were definatley more willing to vote for him in 2020 after seeing his record than in 2016.

California was supposedly 63/34 in 2020, but I don't believe that for a fucking second.

Reread the image and then realize that's NOT what it's arguing

Do I honestly have to explain sharholder capitalism to fucking conservatives??

Capitalism is the collaboration of capital and labor for mutual enterprise. Sometimes labor is in demand, sometimes capital. Guess which for a pandemic? Shops close so labor demand drops, but those shops stil have fixed costs for the demand for capital rises.

Those that can't continue operating lose their business, while those who continue to operate gobble up that marketshare. MArketshare rises, share prices rise, and if your 'wealth' is all just shares, then your 'net worth' or 'wealth' increases.

If Amazon stock doubles, then Jeff's wealth 'doubles' but he didn't make any money, it's all unrealized gains. You don't pay taxes on unrealized gains. Imagine your 401k doubled in a few good years in the market and the government sent you a bill for 20% of your 401k's value. Fuck no. That's why we don't tax unrealized gains.

I can't believe I'm seeing this marxist, "rich person evil" nonsense upvoted here. Is it fucked up that the pandemic killed small business? Yes. But this "but muh wealth inequality" bullshit is bullshit.

They don't think those things, they think, they are good people if they think those things. They used to think government overreach was the worst, war was bad, and oil was bad only because we were 'stealing' it.

We can coexist, we just need to understand what they need - something to sacrifice for to feel morally superior about. Hong Kong needs saving, Uyghurs need attention, and there's a whole world devoid of personal responsibility they can hold rallies for.

Devoid guidance they'll be co-opted and used

Kids accept masks.

They can't imagine flying without the TSA.

The next kids will dream about having treasonous parents to turn in because that's how the world works and how you get ahead. They'll form school clubs reading marx and forming political councils for early social credits. They'll choose the majors that net them the most, and we aren't all cut out to be be engineers, but every company needs political watchdogs and studying political doctrine is a shortcut to success. Free thinking men will be reigned in because women want powerful successful men, and the only examples of those are strong political figures, so as always men will become what the women want.

This is how the world works.

They won't know it can be any other way.

Anyone who tried to tell them otherwise was turned in for credit long ago.

Welcome to 1986.

'money' will have a limited spending timefreame, it expires. Which means spend it or lose it. And there will be limits on how much you can buy of any one thing, or category of thing. If your social credit score isn't high enough you won't be allowed to buy anything in the tiered 'luxury' categories.

The result is that most of your money willl expire because you maxed out your 'essential needs' categories and haven't attended enough pro-marxist rallies to unlock the next category. Everyone will be paid 'the same' but only the elite with all categories unlocked will live above poverty.

Children dreaming of material wealth won't study hard building skills so they can work hard at a job providing goods and services society needs, but instead will budget their time to attend all the rallies, and get noticed cheering loufly in the custome t-shirt and sign they made praising dear leader so they can inch closer to unlocking the next level they can spend money in.

I could go on, I won't.

We want to give you cures to cancer and free energy, but can't so long as you are seperate nation states threatening to war against one another, we urge you to come together and form one government after fixing your racist history of accumulated privledge by redistributing wealth back to those you stole it from.

Naturally, we feel that the Capital of Earth should be Jeruselum.

And it's reversed.

1
ObjectiveReality 1 point ago +1 / -0

No it's not.

Corona virus is a family of viruses. Covid-19 is a very specific virus in the corona virus family. Common colds include a variet od corona viruses. We've been researching vaccines and treatments for corona virsuses (broad) and specific corona viruses, like sars, for ages.

My lab has been doing drug development against the corona virus (broad) for a decade, and have sent candidate compounds all over the world. Had our timing been similar and anyone in pharma cared about cures enough to give a shit about novel treatments rather than gestapo empowering papers please vaccines, you could have accused us of the same because we could have sent our drugs 'ahead of the outbreak'.

It's nothing.

Please be just as skeptical of 'our side' and things that fit 'our narrative' as you would anything on CNN. All the same, I upvoted your otherwise reasonable thought for visibility.

Why on earth would you take on all that extra risk for ... uh ... no reason?!

Austin Texas has bats. Release it in fucking Austin. Start with coronaviruses native to your target, not those native to you.

You don't release a virus you think capable of devastating a nation and gamble on whether you can contain it. That's the dumbest gamble to make. You have hindsight, they didn't. You're not going to make point of origin inside your borders, let alone your industrial hub.

Because it was likely an accidental leak. Once it was out that's a different story, but you don't release a virus you believe to be devastating to an adversary in your own borders... let alone a few miles from the lab it would have been developed at.

"Guys listen, you know that super anthrax we designed at the super anthrax lab in Chartelston? Let's use it on Bulgaria. The plan I'm envisioning is that we release it a mile down the road and then wait until it works it's way across the pacific."
