In theory it makes sense that the "educated" would become officers although in function I don't know how much decisionmaking most officers actually do in the modern war world.

The presumption was that education wouldn't be bastardized like it is today too.

I think vetting is an issue (or maybe too much vetting is the issue from a certain point of view) and you shouldn't get less of a shot or no shot at all if you prove yourself in other ways.

I do believe that there is too much corruption in their ranks, but I won't advocate for throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

We have had restrictions made too lax everywhere else, after all.

I would absolutely panic if I were them, because the former* President would have had access and authorization to know and enact the subject material.

That's a joke but it's probably true, I can't imagine Frenchies standing back while their country wages war against Russia because Russia will shit on them hard.

France is already on its knees and a war with Russia would be a figurative guillotine placed in front of them.

The coalition of The Peoples of the United States of America are the good guys at this point. All flawed but all standing up for what's righteous.

I mean so that she doesn't have to dip into the 700K at all, so it is just entirely bonus cash that she doesn't need to live off of.

If I got that kind of cash dropped into my lap, I would treat it as entirely separate and only use it when I need it for example.

but so we dare think that they weren't doing it the entire time?

The difference is that they can't bypass the red tape as easily, and if caught could suffer consequences.

I find the arguments for and against both annoying because neither side presents their arguments well and neither side acknowledges the point for the other.

From where I stand, I see the capability of doing so and a special kind of trust in the government that they would in fact do things to harm us and hide it.

For the latter point, are you sure you don't just pay attention more?

Our eye for details change over time after all.

I would have imagined residue would come from pollen, dirt and mold in the air and the ever perpetual wild fires that seem to happen more in the last ten years than ever before, almost like they're being set alight on purpose.

It's a shame the activity is so low.

I have always loved reading through conspiracy theories with well reasoned arguments, because they are good at making you think, making you question yourself, and ultimately better understanding your position on a subject whether the theory grips you and turns you into a believer or not.

Plus, it cannot be understated, there is always a lot of interesting information that people bring to the table that is often true, if not misrepresented.

You never know when, ten years later, something happens that makes you point back at a memory of someone on some board arguing about something or other.

That's probably why I always enjoy going down the roads people take me here, and possibly why post-2020 election theft was a most intriguing time.

Posts about fuckin' laser sights at the Vatican and shit, ahh those days were something.

I wouldn't be ready to put that kind of trust into a dude who was able to be bribed with homes for stepping back and not bitching too much about it.

To be fair, he did say "can't support the results of the Biden/Harris administration" separately from referencing the selection, which implies the results of their policies and actions.

The claims of an imminent attack are dubious.

If they were honest though, like Russia I support a country's preemptive attack on a nation intent on attacking.

I'll choose to remain consistent on that specific point.

But when the heck have governments been honest?

I never really saw its value, but more power to you if you did.

Nah, that Russian spyware is used by a lot of people in the conservative movement.

People latched on to that hard for some reason.

That's really sad and actually raises my respect for him.

When people make sacrifices like this for their country and -- yes, even the family that treats him like shit, whether they are smart enough to understand or not -- it shows integrity.
