Hm.. that's a whole lot of billions of people who are condemned to hell because they never had a chance to hear the gospel. There's a loving God for ya!
I suspect the original Jesus and his teachings have been greatly twisted over the centuries into a control system called "Christianity." As a result, Christian dogma today bears little resemblance to the actual truths of God. Same with every organized religious system. The reality of God is far grander than any of them considers.
Fortunately, God doesn't particularly care if our beliefs are correct, so long as they teach forgiveness and kindness and cause us to seek higher truths. So, please, exercise your right to be a Christian. But you don't get to chain God by supposing that His grace/mercy/love/salvation are limited to those who agree with you.
A Biblical quote doesn't really impress me, because we have no idea who actually wrote it. One day you'll be shocked when you come across the actual history of the Bible. It's more akin to historical fiction - seeds of truth around which a narrative has been constructed. The narrative forms the basis of the religious control system. It's a mark of spiritual maturity to be able to draw out the seeds of truth and reject the dogmas arising from the narrative.
You disagree deeply. That's fine. I'm not here to proselytize. But one thing I can promise is that your exclusionary mindset reflects neither the will nor way of God.
It would go to the Electoral College. The delegates elected by the Harris voters would simply select any VP they want. Remember, technically we're not electing the President/VP. We're electing people who promise to vote for the candidate we want when the Electoral College convenes.
The scenario would certainly hurt the Harris campaign, but it wouldn't result in a loss of electoral votes.
Nah, not mad. More bored. You have no idea how many times I've had this same argument. You won't listen, nothing I say will change that. You'll only change your opinion when real life smacks you in the face and humbles you. This makes you very normal, and therefore boring.
It's alright, I don't expect a mea culpa in 20 years.
You say so. You think I'd be hanging around this place if I had a problem reading stuff contrary to what I think? I wouldn't accept it because I've already deeply considered, and probably adopted at one point or another, any position you could come up with and found that it doesn't work in real life.
Expressing opinion is not fallacy. You're projecting a bit there.
Sure it does. Anthropologically speaking, the gay uncle is an additional resource provider for the family unit. He increases the odds that the family's genetics are passed along. Interestingly, the odds that a boy will be gay increase by about 33% for each older brother his mother has carried. In other words, when there are too many mouths to feed, more gay guys come along to help feed them rather than adding to them.
You do not know me at all. I have been dealing with this stuff for a quarter century, most of that voluntarily celibate as I pleaded with God for help, a miracle, something. 20 years of trying to pray the Gay away, and walking the line to the best of my ability. I fully and comprehensively explored the path that you are advocating.
I got the help, when I was ready for it, but it took the form of realizing that I'm accountable only to God and that He doesn't care that I'm gay; it's merely part of the experience I was ordained to receive in this life. He cares that I am grateful to Him and kind to my fellowman, and that's about it.
I suggest boning up on those parts of the Bible that talk about unrighteous judgements.
Ah, the Law of Moses! I assume you obey it? Better put down the shellfish, and don't forget to plan around the prescribed monthly purification when you or your wife has her period. Once of you is gonna have to watch the kids.
You don't get to pick and choose. Either the entire Law of Moses applies or none of it does. Christian doctrine is that the Law of Moses was done away in Christ. Who, by the way, is not recorded as saying a single syllable on the topic. Seems like a pretty big oversight since He supposedly cares about it so much.
I didn't hear "MAGA." The officer said, "Woah, back up." Unfortunately it obscured whatever was supposedly out of touch.
